11/OCT - BEIJING Arrival in Beijing, Capital of the People's Republic of China. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
12/OCT - BEIJING Breakfast at the hotel + lunch. In the morning, we initially visit the Olympic Park to see the main stadiums of the 2008 Olympics (without entry to the stadiums): the Nest (main Olympic Games stadium) and the Water Cube (swimming stadium). Subsequently, we visit a Pearl Workshop. In the afternoon, visit to The Great Wall (Juyongguan Pass), one of the oldest and grandest human works in the world, located 70km from Beijing city. Return to the city and optional walk through Hutong (old quarter) to experience the authentic life of the Pekinese and the most famous commercial street in Beijing—Wangfujing Street. Return to the hotel and accommodation.
13/OCT – BEIJING Breakfast at the hotel + Peking Duck lunch. During this day we will visit: Tiananmen Square, one of the largest in the world, the Imperial Palace, known as the "Forbidden City," the Temple of Heaven, a work built in 1420 with a surface of 267 hectares, and a Chinese Tea House shop where you can not only taste a variety of tea but also learn the tea ceremony and its culture. Before returning to the hotel, we will have a foot massage to relieve travel fatigue. Return to the hotel and accommodation.
14/OCT - BEIJING / XI’AN BY TRAIN
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch
In the morning, transfer to the station and high-speed train to Xi’an (5 hrs), an ancient city of 3,000 years that served as the capital for 11 dynasties, and is notable for being the starting point of the famous "Silk Road." Arrival and visit to the Ancient Wall (without climbing) and a walk through the Muslim Quarter. In the evening, optional Tang Dynasty Cultural Show, known as the "Moulin Rouge of the East." Return to the hotel and accommodation.
15/OCT – XI’AN / CHENGDU BY TRAIN
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
Today we will visit the famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum which houses more than 6,000 life-sized terracotta figures representing a grand army of warriors, steeds, and war chariots guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin. We also visit the Terracotta Workshop where we can learn the production process of the Terracotta Figures. In the afternoon, transfer to the station for the high-speed train to Chengdu (4 hrs), capital of Sichuan province. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
16/OCT – CHENGDU
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
In the morning, visit to the Panda Bear Breeding and Research Center. Panda Bears are exclusive to China and are an endangered species. The world population of panda bears is estimated at about 1,200, with approximately 80% concentrated in Sichuan province. Subsequently, departure by road towards Leshan (160km), a city famous for its Giant Buddha, the most gigantic Buddha statue in the world. It is a 71-meter tall figure of Maitreya, sitting in a ravine of Qixia Peak by the river. The carving began in 713 and took more than 90 years. Return to Chengdu and accommodation.
17/OCT – CHENGDU / CHONGQING BY TRAIN (**SATURDAY)
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
In the morning, transfer to the station and high-speed train to Chongqing (2 hrs). Arrival in Chongqing, the "8D" magic city of China, with more than 33 million inhabitants. Visit to the Liberation Monument, Kuixing Building, Art Gallery (exterior), Chaotianmen Square, the Raffles Tower (without climbing). In the late afternoon/evening, we visit the Hongyadong Area and the Qiansimen Bridge to appreciate Chongqing's impressive night landscape. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
*On weekends (normally on Saturday) and on national holidays, we will have the opportunity to see the "Drone Show" over the Chongqing river, provided by the local government. About 12,000 drones will work together to give you a visual feast. The Drone Show is not 100% guaranteed, for example, in case of bad weather.
18/OCT – CHONGQING / ZHANGJIAJIE BY TRAIN
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
Today we will visit the "Liziba" Metro Station where the light rail crosses through the middle of a building, the Sujiaba Overpass (with a height of 72 meters), the ancient streets of Xiahaoli & Longmenhao. In the afternoon, transfer to the station and high-speed train to Zhangjiajie (2.5 hrs) which was included in the UNESCO World Geopark. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
19/OCT – ZHANGJIAJIE
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
Full-day tour of Zhangjiajie National Park, visiting the Bailong Elevator, which is the highest in the world at an altitude of 326 meters. The Yuanjiajie Nature Reserve, home to the prototype for the Hallelujah Mountain from the movie Avatar, and Tianzi Mountain. In the evening, optional "Charming Western Hunan" show which vividly presents the history and culture of local ethnic minorities.
20/OCT – ZHANGJIAJIE / SHANGHAI BY FLIGHT
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
Visit to Tianmen Mountain (Heaven's Gate Mountain), featuring a Glass Skywalk built on the cliffside. We finish the visit at the workshop for typical ethnic minority items. In the late afternoon/evening, transfer to the airport and flight to Shanghai (2 hrs), one of the municipalities directly under the Central Power, with more than 25 million inhabitants; it is the largest port, commercial center, and the most international metropolis in China. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
21/OCT – SHANGHAI
Breakfast at the hotel + lunch.
Full-day tour visiting the Jade Buddha Temple, Xintiandi District, French Concession, Nanjing Road, The Bund, the Pudong Area Financial Zone (Oriental Manhattan), and a Silk Store. In the evening, we can optionally take a cruise on the Huangpu River to appreciate one of the most striking night landscapes in the world, which will be a perfect closing to our trip to China.
22/OCT – SHANGHAI / HONG KONG
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free morning. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and flight to Hong Kong (3 hrs), one of the world's most important financial centers and ports. Arrival in Hong Kong and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
23/OCT – HONG KONG
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, half-day tour of Hong Kong Island: Aberdeen Fishing Pier, Repulse Bay, and Victoria Peak. Transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon.
